Windows Options

After the program was installed and launched I was greeted by a very nicely done GUI consisting of 2 panels, on the left panel is a listing of AMIDiag's main functions consisting of System Information, Diagnostics, Trouble Ticket, Interactive Diagnostics and Additional Tools.

System Information
System Information provides detailed hardware and software system information for the following items: See Figure 4.

Diagnostics
Allows you to test various system hardware and configuration environments. For each of these tests, two different levels are provided. Basic diagnostics tests all the common or regular features and Extended diagnostics tests dig a little deeper to any special features of the device. The diagnostics can also be remotely administered. See Figure 5.

Trouble Tickets
Trouble tickets are used by much of the technical support industry to help
diagnose problems when it is not possible for the technician to be physically in front of the computer. The more they know about the system, the easier it is to troubleshoot the problem. 

AMIDiag provides a Trouble Ticket generator. The AMIDiag Trouble Ticket generator will create an HTML and XML file containing all system information, results from the System Diagnostics, and the Interactive Diagnostics. The information can be accessed by a user and sent via email to a system administrator, product manufacturer, and so on.

Interactive Diagnostics
These tests diagnose the devices that need your interaction and response to what is seen or heard as the tests are conducted. They include mouse, keyboard, video and audio. See Figure 6.

Additional Tools
The user can execute some of the common Windows tools from within AMIDiag for Windows, with the click of a button. There are ten default Additional Tools Icons.

• Program Manager

• Task Manager

Each of these main functions can be clicked and opened to show the Tree version of what is displayed on the right. Upon clicking on one of the left icons the result is than displayed on the panel on the right, simple enough...
