PC AVTech Sound Card Technical Benchmarks
See detailed reports with several graphs on each sound card, table comparing the tested sound cards, etc. Reports contains 15 640x480 pixel graphs and may be take a bit to load, but very informative.

Roxio's (Adaptec) CD Recorder Information Database
You can use this form to search their CD recorders database to find out the technical specifications and capabilities of a specific CD recorder, which of their software supports your recorder, and which recorders are supported by a specific Adaptec software.

CD-R Resources
Make sure and check out the CD-R primer by Mike Richter. I like his "Favored simple expression over technical detail"  Mike is a regular poster and great help to alt.comp.periphs.cdr newsgroup & a few others. (if you are having problems & don't do newsgroups... YOU LOSE!)
